Children’s Law Center of Central North Carolina (CLC) provides children with quality legal advocacy focusing on domestic violence issues, high conflict custody cases, and the rights of children in public education. Operating in environments where parents/guardians and systems are overwhelmed and lose focus of what’s most important for children, CLC saw the need to inform more decision makers about the benefits of having CLC at the table when it comes to advocating for what is in the best interest of children.
.As M Creative began creating a strategy to define and meet CLC’s goals, it became apparent that in addition to uplifting the organization’s mission, vision, and the way it serves to our community, a more compelling and clearer identity, better aligned with what makes CLC unique, was also needed. Additionally, CLC was taking bold steps to expand its services into advocacy within the educational system, and the organization’s messaging and identity needed to evolve to encompass and announce that it had entered a new era of advocating for children and their families
The CLC logo is the centerpiece of the organization’s identity. The intertwined butterfly and scales of justice, and an assertive color palette, combine hopefulness with urgency, balance with action, and highlight CLC’s commitment to partnering in systems change work.
During stakeholder interviews leading to the development of its refreshed identity, CLC’s value proposition was articulated as being a beacon for the voice of children in helping determine their best interests and outcomes. Let Their Voices Be Heard stood out as a way to capture that sentiment
“Our ability to reach, educate, and inspire decision-makers to action has taken on a new life.”
Ben Loebner, Fund Development Manager
As part of their new Education Advocacy Program service line, CLC added a focus on addressing inequitable outcomes for children within the school system whose needs are not being identified and addressed. CLC does this by empowering families and students with critical information on their rights and how to navigate a complex educational system.
